The Iowa Great Lakes provide the widest options for water based recreation, including boating, fishing and scuba diving. Our trails system is perfect for a stroll or exploring by bicycle. Spirit Lake has many parks for enjoyment and other city, county and State parks are located throughout the Lakes Area.

Live outdoor music is a frequent event in downtown Spirit Lake. Other free performances are regularly held at Preservation Plaza, and at the Roof Garden, both are next to Historic Arnolds Park amusement park. Live music is also found in many establishments. The Lakes Area has a strong tradition of supporting live music, including local, regional, and national talent.
